Welcome to the Volunteer Diaries website. This site was created as part of the Simon Cumbers Media Challenge fund and is a tribute to those who go the extra mile for those in need. Here you will find detailed accounts from volunteers from the field. You will also be able to look at how the experience changed them as individuals during their volunteer work and how the community they work with views them.

This site also takes a look into the development issues within specific communities and how the volunteer worker tries to address the levels of poverty and education in the communities they will live and work in.
